i don’t understand the point of getting so worked up about internet companies (social networks) gathering your data to provide you with a personalized experience yes, i’m saying that i really don’t care if they are “violating my privacy”, because it’s sort of the agreement i make when i get on the internet in the first place it’s not invasive, regardless of whether or not they tell you about it in their terms of use…how has it REALLY affected you since your address book and search history and whatever the fuck else you post on the internet is being logged? and what did you expect when you posted all of that stuff on the internet anyway? it’s not your property anymore if you upload it onto someone else’s property…if you seriously believe that when you type in a search query or when you store your address book online that it’s still yours, then by that principle anything that i give to anybody else is still mine, regardless of the circumstances i’ve been using social networks since i was a preteen and you know what has happened to me as a result of the privacy i’ve lost to them? absolutely nothing, because privacy doesn’t necessarily equal safety
